With the spread of the COVID-19 virus and the newly imposed regulations that limited the movement of people and restricted most of them to their houses, a lot of NGOs adopted a remote working modality to protect their staff. This new approach of work with the increasing need to deliver aid to vulnerable populations has impacted the monitoring and evaluation processes implemented by NGOs around the world. This research aims to explore the changes that led to the development of the new remote monitoring and evaluation modalities in the MENA region (as a case of long-term humanitarian interventions with diverse contexts ranging from war zones in Syria and Yemen to more stable contexts in Jordan and Egypt) and to identify both the behavioural and organisational factors that shaped these changes. The research utilises a sequential mixed (quantitative and qualitative) methodology to build the theoretical model and verify it and consequently answer the research questions.
