GLONO was a research programme on how international norms about gender equality are being used in concrete development policies and practices by seven very different donor organisations. The donor organisations studied were South African Development Partnership Agency (SADPA), Mexican Agency for International Development Cooperation (AMEXCID), Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark (DANIDA), World Bank, Islamic Relief Worldwide, Oxfam International, and Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The research programme ran from 2014 to 2016 and was carried out by a group of Danish and British researchers. It was financially supported by the Danish Council for Independent Research and by Danish Institute for International Studies (DIIS).
