In the face of climate change and a rapidly rising global population, providing nutritious food in a sustainable manner to all the world’s people is one of the most pressing challenges of our time. DEV research on sustainable food systems investigates innovative solutions, for producers and consumers of food, to combat food insecurity.
Knowledge sharing is key to all our proposed solutions, ranging from smartphone apps to alert farmers in Ethiopia to how they may overcome water shortages, and dietary advice for pernicious anaemia to women in India, to a dialogue between Chinese and UK policy makers and agricultural experts on sustainable farming.
